This is a vintage artist porcelain doll of Anne of Green Gables. She is 17" tall. The doll has a porcelain head and lower arms with hands. Her body and legs are not porcelain, I think they are modern composition. The back of the head is marked STBJ. She has red hair, freckles, and green eyes. She is wearing a brown calico dress with a white pinafore apron. Her features are hand painted. She has a straw hat and glasses. The glasses are a little odd because I don't recall Anne wearing spectacles in the book. There are two tags attached, one is the original price tag on the back of a business card from Tillie's Tinkerbelle Shop, a doll store that used to operate in Goshen, Indiana. The proprietor died in 2011, I don't know when she closed the doll store. There is a second tag from a local antique dealer. The original price was $285.00.
I can ship with the original box, which is pictured, or in a smaller box, which would be cheaper. Let me know if you want the original box.
