This is an antique early American pattern glass Atterbury glass Continental pattern bread tray. The tray says Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread in large letters around the rim, and it is dated Pat July 4th 1876. The plate also has a finecut circle and diamond pattern on the verge. The center of the plate shows the US Capitol with the word Continental at the top and the dates 1776 and 1876 at the bottom. This item was made to celebrate the US Centennial in 1876. It is 12 3/4" across the handles. The tray is in very good condition. There are no chips or cracks, but there are several areas of inner rim roughness under the words Daily Bread.
