This is a pair of Garfield the cat McDonald's promotional advertising mugs. They are Anchor Hocking clear glass mugs decorated in red, yellow, orange, cream, white and black. One has Garfield in a hammock with Odie holding up one end, Garfield thinking "It's not a pretty life but somebody has to live it." The other shows Garfield riding a skateboard pulled by Odie, with Garfield thinking "Use your friends wisely." Each mug is 3 1/8" wide and 3 3/8" tall. They are in excellent condition. The date on the cartoons is 1978, but that doesn't mean the mugs were made in 1978, just that the cartoons on the mugs were copyrighted in 1978. I think the mugs were actually produced in the 1980s.
