This is a vintage German clear glass stein with a pictorial porcelain and pewter lid. The porcelain plaque is decorated with a woman beating a man and the caption in German "drum prufe wer wich ewig binder ob sich auch herz zum herzen findet." This is a quotation from the poem Das Lied von der Glocke by Frederick Schiller. The stein is 6 1/4" tall, taller with the thumb rest on the stein. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The stein is dimpled with oval bubbles on the sides. The lid is marked Rinn Zein on the underside.
