This is a Pfaltzgraff America pattern charger, service plate, or platter with a bird and butterfly design in the center. America was made by Pfaltzgraff for the Museum of American Folk Art, so they are normally marked with Pfaltzgraff and MAFA backstamps, but this one is blank on the back. The charger is 12 1/8" wide. The plate has a blue sponge painted rim, and the center design looks like sponged versions of quilt blocks. Pfaltzgraff produced America between 1983-1989.
