This is a vintage Red Cliff Ironstone Grape pattern square soup tureen. It is mostly square with cut off corners, so it has eight sides around the rim: four short and four long. The tureen has grapes and vines embossed on two of the long sides. The base is a square. The finial or handle on the lid is a bunch of grapes. The tureen includes the ladle, but not the underplate. Red Cliff produced Grape between 1958-1974. There is a glaze skip on the side of the ladle, everything else is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The backstamp is blue, a rectangle with the letters RC inside, and under the rectangle are the words Red-Cliff Ironstone. The tureen is 8 3/4" wide without the handles and 9 1/2" tall with the lid.
