This is a pair of Schierholz porcelain pierced handled lidded urns, covered in applied porcelain flowers. They have gilded handles and gold hand painted detailing throughout. The urns have hand painted brightly colored birds, they look like pheasants, on the front and back. Each urn is 12 1/2" tall with the lid on. They are marked on the base with a blue crown and shield with three feathers or leaves inside. Schierholz Plaue used this mark from 1907-1927. The urns are in very good to excellent condition. There are a few flowers with small chips on the petals, but not many. JKT.
